In February 2024, OMEGA and Swatch auctioned 11 MoonSwatch suitcases at Sotheby’s, each containing the complete set of 11 Mission to Moonshine Gold timepieces. All proceeds supported Orbis International, OMEGA’s long‑term partner dedicated to fighting avoidable blindness and vision loss in developing countries through its renowned Flying Eye Hospital, an ophthalmic hospital and teaching facility aboard an aircraft.

Before the auction closed on February 24, the 11 suitcases were displayed in OMEGA Boutiques across 11 cities worldwide, including Zurich, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, London, Milan, Paris, and Sydney.

Omega and Swatch commissioned us to design the Certificates of Authenticity for each suitcase. Since every suitcase was engraved with the IATA code of the main airport in its host city and symbolically entrusted to Seymour the Bear (Orbis’s beloved mascot and ambassador of the Flying Eye Hospital) we drew inspiration from the themes of travel and discovery. We designed each certificate in the form of a passport, paying tribute to Orbis’s extraordinary journey around the world and its pioneering spirit of compassion and adventure.

Each passport certificate draws on the design codes of the iconic and award‑winning Swiss passport, reinterpreted in a playful, brand‑appropriate way. The cover features the Orbis logo with an airplane motif replacing the mountain lines of the original Swiss passport design. The passport is “issued” under the name Seymour the Bear, Orbis’s cherished mascot gifted as a plush toy to children undergoing surgery, and includes an ID photo and a paw‑print stamp.

To complete the concept, we created two custom airport‑style graphic stamps for each of the 11 cities (22 unique fictional stamps in total) mimicking authentic international entry and exit marks.

The passports incorporate several advanced printing and finishing techniques, echoing the complex security features of genuine passports: embossing, white hot‑foil stamping on the cover, laser‑cut inner pages, hot gold foil, and micro‑embossing with iridescent foil.

We also developed a custom packaging box to hold the passport, inspired by the presentation box used when receiving a real Swiss passport. The box is made from Ultra Black paper by Fedrigoni and produced in SoBox™ by SONDEREGGER with 90°‑shaped corners. The cover features hot gold‑foil stamping for the OMEGA × Swatch logo and laser‑engraved IATA codes, each corresponding to one of the 11 airports.
